The official website of the All You Need Is Kill anime movie revealed additional staff, key visual (pictured), and a trailer on Wednesday. The movie adapting Hiroshi Sakurazaka's action sci-fi light novel will open in Japanese theaters on January 9. Singer-songwriter AKASAKI performs the theme song "Tsuretette," which is previewed in the trailer below. Kenichirou Akimoto (Kaijuu no Kodomo CG director) is helming the movie at Studio 4°C. The movie will reconstruct the story from a different angle than the novel and the Hollywood live-action movie. Shueisha published the original light novel under its Super Dash Bunko in December 2004, featuring illustrations by Yoshitoshi ABe (Serial Experiments Lain). VIZ Media published the novel in English in July 2009. Takeshi Obata (Death Note) drew a manga adaptation which was serialized on Young Jump magazine from January to May 2014.
