Aniplex Announces 'Kaze wo Tsugumono' Original TV Anime

The Aniplex Online Fest 2025 event announced an original television anime titled Kaze wo Tsugumono (Inherit the Winds), revealing the main staff, a teaser promo, and teaser visual (pictured above). Playwright Yutaka Narui, founder of the theater troupe Caramel Box and known for the Tachikawa Jinsuke stage play series including the Shinsengumi-themed Kaze wo Tsugumono, is penning the script for the anime. Narui is also co-credited for the original work with Aniplex. Synopsis Set in June of 1863, the story follows a man with no memory who is brought to the Mibu Roushigumi headquarters in Kyoto. Taken in by vice-commander Souji Okita, he is given the name Jinsuke Tachikawa and begins life as a member of the group. As the Mibu Roushigumi—later known as the Shinsengumi—gain prominence amid the turmoil of the late Edo period, Jinsuke and his comrades are swept up in the era's upheaval.
