Award-Winning Novel '[Watashi no Ofuru de Waruin dakedo]' Green-Lit for Anime Adaptation

At the award ceremony for the inaugural Anime de Sekai e! Shousetsu Taisho held in Tokyo, also known as Aniseka Novel Award, organizers formally announced that Puri's Grand Prize-winning novel, [Watashi no Ofuru de Waruin dakedo] to Okaa-sama (Heroine) ni Torimaki wo Oshitsukerare, Totsuida Henkyou demo Yome Atsukai Saremasen ga, Okage de Jiyuu ni Ikiraremasu!, will be adapted into an anime. Junichi Satou, known for his work on Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon), Ojamajo Doremi (Magical DoReMi), and the Aria franchise, will serve as the chief director, with newly established animation studio NAGOMI (founded in 2024) handling the production. The Aniseka Novel Award is a literary prize jointly organized by Twin Engine, a company specializing in animation planning and production, and Straight Edge, a company that manages authors and develops IP. The award's unique mission is to guarantee the anime adaptation of its Grand Prize winner, connecting talented authors and stories with a global audience. More than 6,000 submissions were received for the inaugural competition, making it one of the largest contests of its kind in Japan. The prize winners were originally announced on June 30. The selection process saw participation from 16 animation studios, including Zexcs, WIT Studio, Studio Colorido, team Yamahitsuji, NUT, Geno Studio, Studio Daisy, Peakys, Studio Kafka, BUG FILMS, Scooter Films, OUTLINE, Team OneOne, NAGOMI, Crew-Cell, and EOTA. In addition, Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha will publish the winning novel in print as a cooperating partner.
