The Gintama Maruchibasu Festival announced an anime movie adapting the Yoshiwara Enjou-hen (Yoshiwara In Flames arc) with new animations on Saturday. The official website also revealed a teaser visual (pictured) and a teaser trailer. The movie adapting Hideaki Sorachi's action comedy manga is scheduled to open in Japanese theatres in 2026. Sorachi serialized the original Gintama manga in Weekly Shounen Jump from December 2003 to September 2018. The manga then transferred to Jump Giga and ran for three consecutive issues from December 2018 to February 2019. The last few chapters were released on the official Gintama app from May to June 2019. Viz Media licensed the manga in English in 2006 and released the first 23 volumes from July 2007 to August 2011.
