'Girls Band Cry' Gets New Movie

The official website of the Girls Band Cry anime series announced a new movie on Tuesday, revealing a teaser visual (pictured). The movie, a completely new story in the Girls Band Cry universe, is produced by Toei Animation. The original television anime aired in 13 episodes in Spring 2024. Streaming platform Catchplay+ simulcast the anime in both Indonesian and English subtitles beginning May 31. Toei Animation released the anime with English subtitles on Fandango at Home, Microsoft Store, Hoopla, and Amazon Prime Video on August 13. The two-part compilation movie of Girls Band Cry was previously announced at Togenashi Togeari 2nd One-Man Live "Rinne no Kotowari," and is scheduled to open in theaters in 2025.
