The official website for the Golden Kamuy television anime announced the main cast and a commercial video for the upcoming original animation video on July 2. The OVA adapting Satoru Noda's action adventure manga will be hitting shelves on October 17, bundled with the spin-off novel Golden Kamuy: Tsurumi Tokushirou no Shukugan.
Shizutaka Sugahara (Kyoukai no Rinne) is directing the OVA at Brain's Base.
Noda began serializing the action adventure manga in Shueisha's Young Jump magazine in August 2014. Shueisha published the 31st and final volume in July 2022. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English and published it under its VIZ Signature imprint from June 2017 to January 2024. Golden Kamuy has over 29 million copies of its volumes in circulation.
Produced by Geno Studio, the first three seasons of the television anime aired in Spring 2018, Fall 2018, and Fall 2020, each running for 12 episodes. The fourth season by Brain's Base aired for 13 episodes in Fall 2022. Crunchyroll simulcasted all four seasons with subtitles and English dub.
