The official website of the Ikoku Nikki (Journal with Witch) television anime revealed the main cast, staff, a key visual (pictured), and first promotional video on Wednesday. The anime adapting Tomoko Yamashita's drama manga is scheduled to premiere in January 2026. Voice actresses Miyuki Sawashiro (Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii) and Fuuko Mori are starring as Makio Koudai and Asa Takumi, respectively. Miyuki Ooshiro (Durarara!!x2 Shou assistant director) is helming the anime at Shuka. Kouhei Kiyasu (Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru) is handling the series composition and penning the script. Kenji Hayama (Kuragehime) is designing the characters, and Kensuke Ushio (Chi. Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite) is composing the music. Yamashita drew the manga in Feel Young magazine from June 2017 to June 2023. Shodensha published the 11th and final volume in August 2023. Ikoku Nikki has a cumulative 1.7 million copies of its volumes in circulation.
