The official website for the television anime adaptation of Tarou Yuri's Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai (Kaya-chan Isn't Scary) manga unveiled four additional cast, a key visual (pictured), and commercial video on Monday. The anime is scheduled to premiere in January 2026 on TV Tokyo, AT-X, and WOWOW.
Hiroshi Ikehata (Dark Gathering) is directing the anime at East Fish Studio. Shigeru Murakoshi (Zombieland Saga) is handling the series composition. Tarou Yamada (Kyochuu Rettou CG director) and Hiroyuki Moriguchi (Around 40 Otoko no Isekai Tsuuhan) are designing the characters. Kohta Yamamoto (86) and Shun Narita (Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha) are composing the music.
Tarou began a manga adaptation on the Kurage Bunch website in April 2022. Shinchosha published the seventh volume on June 9.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English in November 2024 and shipped the second volume on July 15. The third volume is planned for release on October 28.
