The official website of the Kikaijikake no Marie (Mechanical Marie) television anime unveiled five additional cast and a second promotional video on Friday. The anime series adapting Aki Akimoto's romantic comedy manga will premiere on October 5 at 10:00 p.m. on Tokyo MX, followed by Yomiuri TV and BS Fuji.
Junji Nishimura (Hikari no Ou) is directing the anime at Zero-G and Liber. Mariko Kunisawa (Boushoku no Berserk) is handling the series composition and Youko Kikuchi (Ishura) is designing the characters. Yasuhara Takanashi (Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu) and Johannes Nilsson (Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete) are composing the music.
Akimoto began drawing the manga in LaLa magazine in June 2020. Hakusensha published the sixth and final volume in September 2023. A sequel manga, titled Kikaijikake no Marie+, began serialization in LaLa on April 24.
Yen Press licensed the manga in English on February 28 and shipped the first volume on August 26, with the second volume planned for a February 24, 2026 release.
