Production company GREE Entertainment opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Koneko Hoshizuki's Lv999 no Murabito (The villagers of level 999) light novel on Thursday, revealing the main staff, cast, a teaser promo and a teaser visual (pictured). The anime is scheduled to begin in 2026. Voice actors Satoshi Inomata (Ballpark de Tsukamaete!) and Nao Touyama (Yuru Camp△) are starring as Kouji Kagami and Alice Balnesio, respectively. Hoshizuki began penning the fantasy light novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in July 2015. Enterbrain began publishing the series in April 2016, featuring illustrations by Fuumi (Yatara to Sasshi no Ii Ore wa, Dokuzetsu Kuudere Bishoujo no Chiisana Dere mo Minogasazu ni Guigui Iku). The eighth and final volume went on sale on January 25, 2019. The series has a cumulative 3.8 million copies of its volumes in print. Kenichi Iwamoto began drawing a manga adaptation in Kadokawa Shoten's Comp Ace magazine in May 2017. Kadokawa has published eighteen volumes as of April 2025, with the nineteenth volume scheduled to go on sale on August 26, 2025. Synopsis In this world, the concept of levels exist. Other than those who live off defeating monsters, most people are only around level 1 to 5. What's more, not just anyone can go out to hunt monsters; it's heavily influenced by one's role anointed by God. There are eight such eligible roles. Warrior. Fighter. Cleric. Magician. Rogue. Merchant. Hunter. Sorcerer. Those blessed with extraordinary power are divided into three types. Royalty. Heroes. Sages. But for the majority of the population, they have no such powers and live by farming or running shops. Towns are developed by those with the weakest role...villagers. For the powerless villagers going out to hunt monsters is equivalent to committing suicide. But one day, a certain two-year-old child given the role of villager notices something. Once you defeat a monster... you can earn great wealth. [Written by MAL Rewrite] Lv999 no Murabito on MAL News tip submitted by nirererin
