Production company TOHO announced a television anime adaptation of Yuuhirou Tsujitsugu's Snowball Earth manga on Thursday. The official website also revealed the main staff and a teaser visual (pictured). The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2026. Tsujitsugu began serializing the manga in Gekkan! Spirits in January 2021. Shogakukan published the eighth volume last November, with the ninth volume going on sale on July 30. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in June 2023 and released the fifth volume on April 15. The sixth volume is planned for an August 19 release. Yukio was destroyed in battle and Tetsuo survived in an escape pod. After eight years in cold sleep, the escape pod finally lands back on Earth. But when Tetsuo emerges he finds a world in ruins, entirely frozen beneath a blanket of ice and snow—snowball Earth!
