Publishing company Kadokawa opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Kureha's Kekkaishi no Ichirinka (Bride of the Barrier Master) novel on Tuesday, revealing the main staff and a teaser visual (pictured). Kureha published the romantic supernatural novel under its Kadokawa Bunko imprint in December 2021, featuring illustrations by Bodax. The fifth volume went on sale in December 2024, with the sixth volume going on sale on August 25. The novel series has a cumulative 2 million copies of its volumes in print. Odayaka began drawing a manga adaptation in B's-LOG Comic magazine in May 2020. Kadokawa published the sixth volume on July 1. J-Novel Club licensed both the light novel and manga in English release in August 2022 and July 2023, respectively. The fourth light novel volume shipped on July 15. The fourth manga volume was released on June 24, with the fifth volume scheduled to go on sale in January 2026. Synopsis Long ago, Japan was protected by five crystal pillars.
