The official website for the television anime adaptation of Yuushi Ukai's Shibou Yuugi de Meshi wo Kuu. (Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table) light novel unveiled the lead cast, additional staff, an ultra teaser visual (pictured), and ultra teaser promotional video on Saturday. The anime is scheduled to premiere in January 2026. Voice actress Chiyuki Miura (Blue Archive the Animation, Mou Ippon!) is starring as the lead character Yuuki Sorimachi. Souta Ueno (Gimai Seikatsu) is directing the anime at Studio Deen. Rintarou Ikeda (Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia) is handling the series composition, and Eri Osada (Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru) is designing the characters. Ukai began penning the action suspense light novel under the MF Bunko J imprint with illustrations by Necometal in November 2022. Kadokawa published the eighth volume on February 25. Monthly Comp Ace began serializing a manga adaptation by Banzai Kotobuki Daienkai in April 2023. Kadokawa released the third volume on February 26.
