Video Game 'Death Stranding' Gets Anime Series in 2027

Kojima Productions announced an anime series based on Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding video game at the Disney+ Originals Preview event at the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort on Thursday, revealing the main staff and a concept art (pictured above). The anime series, tentatively titled Death Stranding Isolation, will debut exclusively on Disney+ in 2027. Set in the same world as the video game, the anime series will tell an original story, featuring a traditional, 2D animation style. Developed by Kojima Productions, with publishing by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation consoles and 505 Games for other platforms, Death Stranding released on PlayStation 4 in November 2019, followed by Windows in July 2020, PlayStation 5 in September 2021, iOS, iPadOS, and macOS in January 2024, and Amazon Luna and Xbox Series X/S in November 2024. Death Stranding sold a cumulative 5 million copies worldwide by July 2021 and reached over 20 million players worldwide by April 2025. The video game is also being adapted into an anime movie tentatively titled Death Stranding Mosquito at ABC Animation Studio. Synopsis Once, there was an explosion...
