A television anime adaptation of YC's Teenage Mercenary webtoon was announced by LINE Digital Frontier Corporation on Thursday. YC began serializing the school action webtoon on Naver Webtoon (now Webtoon) in November 2020, featuring illustrations by Rakhyun. Webtoon Entertainment has published the webtoon digitally in English, Spanish, French, German, Thai, Chinese, and Indonesian. The title has reached a total of 1.86 billion views globally.
